Taipei Airport

An ideal location makes CKS International Airport the perfect gateway to both Northeast and Southeast Asia. Pacing Taiwan's booming economy, passenger and cargo volumes at CKS International Airport continue to increase steadily compared with neighboring countries.

CKS International Airport is located in Dayuan County approximately 40 kilometers, or about 50 minutes by car or bus from downtown Taipei. CKS Airport welcomes all passengers to enjoy the many facilities in Terminal I and Terminal II.

Looking back at the initial capacity of a meager 30,000 flights annually when the CKS International Airport was first opened in 1979, now it was increased to 115,000 flights in 2000. The passenger volume presently served has drastically increased from 1979's 3 million travellers to today's 19 million travellers per year by 2001. The increase on the cargo volume has been tremendous as well, up from the initial 190,000 tons to today's 1.17 million tons. Such achievements are the showcase of Taiwan's important in the global community, this also helps to attract foreign investment, transshipments, as well as local tourism, and render Taiwan an industrialized country.

In an effort to support a complete development plan and a maximum yield of cost investment that supports the airport's long-term development plan and also allows smart airport site utilization and a peripheral development plan that supports the demand of passenger and cargo flow at the airport in the long run, a CKS Airport Master Plan has been modified, in a series of short-, mid- and long-term incremental missions that allow active development and expansion of the airport facilities.
